Project-Based Learning (Group 5, group project)

Topic : My Favourite Food
Group : 8 groups (based on a class)
Goal and expectation : 1) state your favourite food
                                   2) local food - Indian
                                                       - Chinese
                                                       - Malay
                                   3) foreign food - western
                                                          - local
                                   4) main course, dessert or drinks
                                   5) check students steps and pace once a week and problem-solving tools

    1) teacher will recommend websites to the students and stdents will search the websites like delicous.com and add in materials into their project

    2) students are encouraged to discuss this topic by using blog or facebook.

    3) students are encouraged to present their project by using ppt.

  2. Tools for students to solve their problems during the process of working out the project.
    1. Blog: Students may write out their opinions about the food they like.
    2. Delicious.com / Youtube : Can be used to search for the pictures of the food they like most.
    3. Wiki: For group discussion and interaction.
    4. Bubbl.com: to create a structure of the favourite food of the group members.
    5. Second life.com: To create a role that may come out a scene that he or she enjoys the food with his/ her friends at the hawker centre.

  3. About the classification of food
    it may divided into dishes, cookies, bread & biscuts.
    Students are advice to collect pictures of various type of food and presented them in the following ways, such as ppt or wiki.
    The materils present must be short and simple,clear to understand.
    About Task
    1) divided into 8 group
    2) slect a group leader
    3) every group select their own topic
    4) every Friday, group discussion
    5) every Monday, present draft and discuss with
    the teacher.
    6) every groups are given four weeks to complete
